教育专业是澳大利亚的移民专业之一，澳洲当地的教师需求量非常大，尤其是中学的技术、自然科学及数学教师等相关教理科的老师会更加短缺。造成老师短缺的原因是澳洲未来40年的人口会增长6成，更多新生命的诞生，也影响着澳洲的教育业。
澳大利亚教师职业的优点众多：
1、教师属于政府公务员，退休金高。
2、收入稳定，偏远地区有补助，起薪高，每年的薪水在5-6万澳元起。
3、工作时间短，工作轻松：上班时间为早8：30点---下午3：30点。
4、假期长：每年4个带薪假期，包括2个长假期，和2个短假期。
5、就业机会多：美国，英国，加拿大等国家普遍缺乏中小学教师，尤其是理工科的中学老师。
6、教师也属于澳洲紧缺职业，移民政策宽松，办理时间短。
但是不像IT和会计专业，教师的职业认证和教师注册是分两个机构分开管的。其中负责审查申请人是不是够资格移民的是 aitsl (Australian Institute for teaching and school leadership), 这是一个设在堪培拉的全国性机构；而负责审查申请人是不是够资格在学校教书并颁发教师证的是各州的独立机构，如在维州是VIT （Victorian Institute of Teaching)。

1、如果学生申请2月份开课的Master of Education,学生可在读完1年之后，申请转到Master of Teaching，再读1.5年的Teaching.这种方案总时长为2.5年。但，不可打包。（只能申请Master of Education，去了之后申请续签）。
2、如果学生申请7月份开课的Master of Education，学生可在读完1.5年后，申请转到Master of Teaching，再读1.5年的Teaching。这个方案总时长为3年。同样不可打包。
3、如果学生想申请打包的Master of Education and Master of Teaching也是可以的，这个打包OFFER的总时长为3.5年。这个方案不需要额外续签，学生同样可以像之前两种方案申请转换课程。相对来讲，这个方案对学生比较有利。
